中国中医药报2007年5月14日报道，据国外媒体报道，免疫学家成功在对付艾滋病传染上另辟蹊径。科学家们利用含硒药物降低了血液中的艾滋病病毒的数量。同时，研究报告的作者称他们的药物并不是对于所有的病人有效，而且也无法完全让人免受病毒的侵害。迈阿密大学的免疫学家们发现，如果让艾滋病患者服用含硒制剂的话，那么艾滋病病毒的繁殖速度就会放慢。研究报告发表在《内科医学总览》上。
