形态特征：多年水生或沼生草本，根状茎乳白色。地上茎粗壮，向上渐细。叶片条形，上部扁平，下部腹面微凹，背面呈凸形，海绵状；叶鞘抱茎。雌雄花序紧密连接，雄花序长3-9厘米，花序轴具白色弯曲柔毛，雌花序4.5-15厘米，基部具1枚叶状苞片，花后脱落。小坚果椭圆形至长椭圆形，果皮具长形褐色斑点。种子褐色，微弯。花果期5-8月。
