食品安全网2005年7月11日报道 据当地媒体日前报道，澳大利亚科学家最近研究发现，菠萝叶中的有效成分具有阻止肿瘤增生的功能，可以用来研制抵抗癌症的新药。澳大利亚昆士兰医学研究院的研究专家说，研究人员从菠萝叶中提取出来的两种菠萝朊酶分子，具有阻止肿瘤增生的功能。它们对遏制胸部、肺部、结肠、卵巢肿瘤以及黑素瘤的生长尤其有效。
从Rabdosia japonica(Burm.f)Hara中又分得四种二萜,经化学和光谱数据确定其中三个为已知的Epinodosin(Ⅰ)、Lasiokaurin(Ⅱ)和Oridonin(Ⅲ)。而另一二萜为首次从植物中分得的天然产物,命名为Rabdosin C,其化学结构用(Ⅵ)式表示。
